It’s been a great summer of outdoor activity, We’ve had our regular RunBirmingham groups, Active Parks activity as well as Wot a Racket. Some fun events have taken place too – First we had the This Girl Can 5K run in March, Great Birmingham 10k Run in April and our first ever Try-athon event in July which featured beginner running, cycling and swimming.
Next up we have The Big Sleuth This Girl Can Event! It’s a women only run from Kings Norton Park to Calthorpe Park taking place on Sunday 13th August 2017.
This Summer over 230 stunning bear sculptures, each with their own story to tell, have laid their paw prints all over the city – and beyond – to bring you a colourful trail of creativity, imagination and fun!
The Big Sleuth Trail unites 100 giant bear sculptures that have been designed by artists, with 137 bear cubs created by local school children as part of The Big Sleuth Learning Programme. Together they form a fantastic, free public art trail that will lead you to parts of the city and wider region that you may never have visited before. On Sunday 13th August 2017 our led run will discover two bears (86 and 87) across a distance of approximately 4.5 miles. At the end of the run there will be activities for children and the family taking place at Calthorpe Park.
It’s all free and all you have to do is turn up on the day, if you like to be organised you can register your place by emailing: HealthandWellbeing@birmingham.gov.uk or contacting us on 0121 464 2012.
