A movement founded on collaboration

The Run Birmingham movement was formed through the collaboration of a number of partners who care about the health and wellbeing of people within the city of Birmingham.

Our aspiration is to become the European Capital of Running by 2022, when the city hopes to host the Commonwealth Games.

Sport England

Sport England is charged with building the foundations of a community sport system by working with national governing bodies of sport, and other funded partners.

They aim to grow the number of people doing sport, sustain participation levels and help more talented people from diverse backgrounds excel by identifying them early, nurturing them, and helping them move up to the elite level.

Run Birmingham is always on the lookout for new partners, sponsors and community advocates to get involved. If you feel you or your organisation could add value to the Run Birmingham movement, or your network could benefit from our groups, then get in touch.

You could be a school or college with a network of running parents, a health provider seeking groups for exercise referrals, a large employer who recognises the benefits of workplace health, or a running club who can give people the platform to start running in a friendly and welcoming environment.

Please contact run@sportbirmingham.org  to find out how you can get involved.
