My role model/inspiration: My dad. He’s always encouraged me with sports and worked hard to provide me with numerous sporting opportunities as a child and teenager. He has been active for as long as I can remember and still runs and plays squash now.
A running barrier I overcame: Two serious ankle ligament injuries. Returning from any injury is always hard because you feel as if you will never get back to your previous fitness levels. However, with a plan and trying to visualise your return to full fitness, anything can be achieved.
My advice for new runners? Start off with small, manageable steps to find out what you are capable of doing. Design a weekly or monthly plan so you can see clearly when you are going to run.
